Sudan: South Reassures China About InvestmentsOctober 15, 2010 South Sudan promised Oct. 15 that China’s investments in its oil sector will be safe regardless of the outcome of the region’s Jan. 9 independence referendum, AFP reported. Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement (SPLM) Secretary-General Pagan Amum said ties between Beijing and South Sudan were “very good” after talks with a delegation of Chinese Communist Party leaders. Amum said China is the largest investor in southern Sudan and many Chinese workers are working in the oil fields there. South Sudan also wants more investment in the future, Amum said. |
